Once I drop the kids off in the morning and begin my commute into the office, I queue up my “Slay the Day” playlist. It is a short list of 6 songs that motivate me to make the day my best day yet.
It is a little bit hood with the explicit version of one of my favorite trap songs. It is a little bit Godly with one of my favorite gospel songs. It is a lot #blackgirlmagic with several inspirational tunes by lovely R&B divas.
Research shows that music has many mental health benefits. Listening to music can be a quick, convenient way to relieve stress and calm an anxious mind.
