I am starting a series here that I am tentatively calling “Unboxing My Mental Health Wellness Tools”. I hope to come up with a ‘sexier’ name for it, but for now that name tells you exactly what this series is.
I want to carve out and hold safe space for people to heal from mental distress. I want to help individuals, groups, families, and communities explore what being mentally healthy looks like to them and how to achieve it.
As such, one goal that I have with this blog is to introduce you to some different methods, tools, techniques, resources, and tips that you could consider in taking steps towards your highest level of mental wellness.
In this series of vlogs and blog posts I will highlighting some of the mental health wellness tools that I have tried in my personal mental health wellness journey. Like most people, I periodically find myself dealing with mental distress from life’s everyday stressors, past trauma, and unwanted surprises.
I have to remain proactive about managing my mental health so that I don’t allow the stress and anxiety that these things sometimes cause to stop me from showing up and functioning at my highest level in life. So I have developed a lot of tools to help me with this and I am always trying out new ones.
Hopefully, unboxing tools that I have tried in my ongoing quest to sustain optimal mental health wellness will help you discover new tools to use in your own quest. Or, if you have not yet started to prioritize your mental health, maybe this will inspire you to embark on such a journey.

Being mentally unwell could look a lot of different ways, but I think most people eventually recognize when they are “not okay”. I hope for this to be a series that folks can consult in some of those “not okay” moments. I also hope that you can use this series in a proactive attempt to work towards stronger mental health in general.
Please reach out to me if you have feedback on the series or suggestions for tools I should try.
